 Polyester foam is more resistant to oils, fuels, and chemicals, and has a higher tensile strength.  Generally, no. Polyester foam is susceptible to “hydrolysis” (breaking down when exposed to water and humidity over a long period). For water filtration, we recommend our specialized Polyether reticulated foams. Polyester is best for air, oil, and chemical filtration.

 PPI stands for Pores Per Inch. A 10 PPI foam has very large, coarse pores for high airflow. A 100 PPI foam has tiny, dense pores for fine filtration or liquid wicking. We can help you choose the correct PPI for your specific flow-rate requirements.
