Yes. Expanded Polyethylene (EPE) is a thermoplastic and can be melted down and recycled into new PE products. It is also “low-VOC,” making it safer for both the environment and indoor air quality compared to some chemical-heavy alternatives.

EPE is a standard, non-cross-linked foam that is more economical and easier to recycle. XLPE (Cross-linked) has a much finer, smoother texture and higher heat resistance. Choose XLPE for high-end aesthetics or medical applications, and EPE for bulk protective packaging.

Standard PE foam can be sensitive to prolonged UV exposure. However, for outdoor or marine use, we can add UV-stabilizers during the manufacturing process to significantly extend the material’s lifespan under direct sunlight.

Many of our PE foam grades are manufactured using FDA-compliant resins, making them safe for food-grade packaging and cold-chain shipping of perishables. Please request our “Food-Grade Certification” if your application requires it.

Density is measured in kg/m³. For light items (like glassware), a lower density ($18–25\text{ kg/m}^3$) is sufficient. For heavy industrial parts or machinery, a high-density foam ($40–100\text{ kg/m}^3$) is required to prevent the product from “bottoming out” the foam during a drop.
