 Standard Foam Board uses paper or plastic liners and is lightweight and easy to cut. Gator Board (or heavy-duty structural board) uses a wood-fiber veneer that is much harder and more durable. If you need a board that won’t dent and will last for years, go with the heavy-duty plastic-faced or veneer-faced options.

 Standard paper-faced foam board is not waterproof and will warp if it gets wet. However, our Plastic-Faced (HIPS) and Aluminum-Faced boards are 100% moisture-resistant and can be used in humid environments or wiped down with liquid cleaners.

Can I print directly onto the foam board? Yes. Our boards are specifically treated for Direct-to-Substrate digital printing. The surface tension is calibrated for UV-curable, Latex, and Solvent inks to ensure the print does not “bead up” or peel off over time.

 For the best results, use a very sharp, thin blade and multiple light passes rather than one heavy cut. For industrial production, we recommend Digital Flatbed Cutters or CNC routers with high-speed tangential knives to maintain a perfect 90-degree edge.

 Yes. Our polystyrene cores can be densified and recycled. We also offer boards with paper liners that are sourced from FSC-certified forests, ensuring your project meets modern “Green Building” and sustainability requirements.
