While both are dense, HD foam is typically a standard polyurethane with a linear cell structure that can feel “stiff.” HR (Resilient) foam has a different chemical structure that provides much higher elasticity and a “springier” feel, making it far more durable and comfortable for seating.

Our resilient foams are produced using “green” polyol technology and are thoroughly cured before shipping. While there may be a very faint “new foam” scent upon unboxing, it is non-toxic and typically disappears within 24 hours.
Yes. We offer resilient foam grades that meet international fire safety standards, such as BS 5852 (Crib 5) and California TB117-2013. These treatments are integrated into the foam during production for permanent protection.
While resilient foam is highly durable, it is an open-cell material. For outdoor furniture, we recommend using it with a waterproof liner or opting for our “Reticulated” resilient foam variant, which allows water to drain through the cell structure quickly.
